Paul Brandt, when just a child, was spurred on by his parents to get pleasure from singing.
In the beginning, he enjoyed singing gospel music in church and then broadened his preferences to include country music.
His first public appearance was singing "Amazing Grace" in high school.
After high school Paul Brandt, while training as a nurse, entered a Calgary Stampede talent contest.
He won a thousand dollars in the event adding to his incentive to become a singer.
One of his first recorded songs for Warner Music, "Calm Before the Storm", was named the best original Canadian country song by SOCAN, a leading group of song writers and publishers.
That song and his next big hit, "My Heart Has a History", widened his popularity both in Canada and United States.
In 1997, Paul Brandt received a Juno award by being named the top Canadian country male vocalist.
He continued recording new songs and both he and his songs won more public acceptance and resulting awards.
In the year 2000, he formed his own record label, Brand-T Records and partnered with Orange Records.
Brandt has continued to record and tour mostly in Canada with several wins in the "Best Male Vocalist" category.
He and his wife, Liz, both devout Christians, have also put their efforts into charity work for such groups as Alberta Children's Hospital
and World Vision.
Paul Brandt, whose voice and songs are indeed unique, is forging a legend in the halls of Canadian country music.
