Jim Carrey was the youngest of four children born to Percy and Kathleen Carrey.
As a youth, Jim Carrey was constantly training himself for a future comedian career.
Sometimes annoying at home and in school, he often performed various skits he had practised.
Due to family circumstances, Carrey took an after school janitorial job when he was in grade nine.
Both of his parents were ill in one way or another and Jim decided to drop out of school at age 16.
His father, who was comical in his own way and a bit of a performer, helped Jim in writing comical skits for clubs in the Toronto area.
After some years in the night club circuits, Jim Carrey decided to broaden his career by acting in television and movies.
In 1994, he finally made an impressive showing in the movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective".
This led to a series of major roles in movies, and Carrey has received two Golden Globe awards.
Jim Carrey is a leading comedian and has proven to be above-average in acting talent.
