Heroes in the artistic category often go unheralded. This seems to be a Canadian trait in general when it comes to admiring people as "heroes". Men and women who excel in various artistic forms are not always acknowledged for their achievements to the degree they should be. Actors, writers, and artists often have to serve a long apprenticeship before their work reaches the point of perfection they themselves set. Over time, however, their unique and talented skills do earn them recognition in Canada's history as artistic heroes.
