Larry Kenneth Robert Walker
Born: December 1, 1966
Place of Birth: Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Major Notes:
Larry Walker is still an active major league baseball player.
He is considered by many as Canada's best baseball player ever.
Walker has played every fielding position in baseball except shortstop.
Before joining his Colorado team, Larry Walker played five seasons for Canada's own Montreal Expos.
Primarily known for his batting feats, he has won at least eight Gold Glove awards for his fielding skills.
Although coming up with excellent batting and fielding records, he has been prone to injuries.
In 1997, Larry Walker was named the National League's Outstanding Player, an honour highly regarded as it is voted upon by the league players.
He can also respond in situations where a stolen base may be necessary and is considered an natural base runner.
Walker also has the highest career batting average ever for a Colorado Rockies player.
Should things go as expected, Larry Walker has potential to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
